In order to attain a successful nation-building initiatives for Malaysia our sixth Prime Minister has introduced 1Malaysia concept as tools for national unity and integration. Difficulties in realizing the goal are quite tedious especially when there are different views among Malaysian youths abroad regarding implementation of the national policy towards the inculcation of national integration. This article elicits youths’ perceptions studying in UK and Ireland on nation building outreach measures and 1Malaysia concept. This study analyses achievement of an integrated nation development with (1) diverse perceptions towards the unity in diversity concept, (2) different understanding among people on the propagated concept, and (3) various outreach measures of national policy adopted to develop a national identity to unite different ethnics under the 1Malaysia concept. 272 questionnaires were distributed among Malaysian students in higher education institutions (HEI) around UK. The findings revealed that majority of the respondents believe the 1Malaysia concept and government’s efforts for transformation via outreach programmes held in the UK are important for youths’ development and success.
